What a Year It's Been So Far!

So far this year, I have 30 events scheduled, which compared to last year, and for a full-time working lawyer, like myself, is a lot!! I’ve worked with incredible couples this year (as I do every year), played at The Scottish Rite Consistory, Country Lane Lodge, the Des Moines Botanical Center, and Barnes’ Place, to name a few, and driven as far away as Denison, IA and flew to Sant Barbara, CA to play weddings.

With all the uncertainty last year brought, and this year continues to bring, it is so refreshing to enjoy the simple things - the love between two people as they declare themselves to each other for the rest of their lives, and as one of my brides said a couple weekends ago to laughs and tears, even after death. I’ve always enjoyed playing at weddings and events, but this year I’ve come to appreciate it more, if that’s even possible. The gratefulness for some form of normalcy is evident at these events and I’m grateful to be a part of it all.
